Armadillo Dash – Running to Give Back

It began eight years ago with an idea to raise money for Scotty’s House and bring a 5K and half-marathon to Bryan/College Station. The result was the Armadillo Dash. The brainchild of Dr. Jennifer Friedman, the Armadillo Dash has since raised more than $228,000 for local children’s charities and attracts close to 2000 runners.

50 Men Who Can Cook

A fusion of men and food will grace the Brazos County Expo Complex on January 31 for the 7th Annual 50 Men Who Cook Fundraiser. The largest annual fundraiser for the College Station ISD Education Foundation, 50 Men Who Can Cook has grown exponentially since its inception in 2008 and has grossed an estimated $435,000 total; last year’s event alone raised $112,000. The growth is expected to continue with a fundraising goal of $125,000, says Teresa Benden, director of the Education Foundation.
