Chamber of Commerce Transportation Forum

In July, the B/CS Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution supporting Prop 1 – an Amendment to the Texas Constitution to increase transportation funding.  On September 30, from 11:30am – 1:30pm at the College Station Hilton, the Chamber’s Transportation Forum will help educate the public about Prop 1 before the November 4 ballot.

Last year alcohol-related crashes in Bryan and College Station reached their highest total in five years. Northgate bars and law enforcement are hoping to reverse that trend with a new campaign that offers free fountain drinks to anyone identifying themselves as the sober driver for the night.

Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile Virus

Mosquitoes collected by the Brazos County Health Department on August 4, 2014 tested positive for West Nile virus (WNV). The positive mosquito site was at the Texas A&M University Golf Course. This is the first positive WNV case in Brazos County in 2014.
