Run for Remembrance 5K

The Third Annual Run for Remembrance 5k will be held on April 25 benefitting firefighters Rickey Mantey Jr. and establishing a scholarship to TEEX Firefighter Recruit Academy in the name of Lieutenant Pickard, Lieutenant Wallace and Firefighter Moran.

After moving through a variety of stretching exercises for the past hour in a small fitness studio with two other women and our instructor, my muscles feel both completely relaxed and thoroughly worked out. Hope Pregnancy Center to Open STD Clinic in Bryan

STD testing and treatment is a natural fit for pregnancy medical centers like HPCBV. As such, Hope Pregnancy Centers has announced the purchase of the building located at 4112 E. 29th Street in Bryan. The Bryan building will add 6,000 square feet to HPCBV’s existing center of 4,200 square feet located at 205 Brentwood Drive in College Station.

Colorectal Screening Program Expands to 17 Counties

Texas A&M Health Science Center recently received another $1.5 million grant from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas that will enable a colorectal screening program to continue another three years and expand its outreach to an additional 10 counties across central Texas.

The Environmental Working Group, a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment, annually releases the Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce. The guide allows people who want reduce their exposure to pesticides in produce to seek out conventionally grown fruits and vegetables that tend to test low for pesticide residues.
