BrightMinds Foundation appoints Katy Dempsey as the new City Director for Bryan College Station.

Lemonade Day Bryan College Station has announced Katy Dempsey will take over as the new City Director of the program effective today.

Lemonade Day is a free, community-wide initiative dedicated to teaching children how to start, own, and run their own successful businesses by operating lemonade stands.

Lemonade Day, to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, provides youth (K-12) with the tools and support necessary to cultivate and foster an entrepreneurial spirit at absolutely no cost to them or their families.  These lessons and resources are made possible by generous local sponsors who recognize the significant benefits to teaching our youth the basics of business at an early age.

The goal of Lemonade Day 2018 is to have 2,000 young entrepreneurs open for business on May 5.

“Lemonade Day is a day of learning and celebrating our future. We know that the success of this effort is dependent upon so many businesses and individuals in our city,” says Lenae Scroggins, Vice President, BrightMinds Foundation. “We are truly honored and humbled by the outpouring of support provided by our local sponsors who are committed, corporate citizens that understand the role they play in helping develop the leaders of tomorrow.”

Dempsey, who will be the main point of contact for sponsors, mentors, and partners, has been involved with Lemonade Day for the past three years. She will continue to co-host Bryan Broadcasting’s “Morning Candy with Frito and Katy” on Candy 95.

Dempsey can be reached by email at katy@lemonadedaybcs.com.
