The Salvation Army of Bryan has opened registration for the annual Angel Tree Program. Applications for Christmas gift assistance will be accepted September 21 through October 2, Monday through Friday, from 9am to 3pm, at Fellowship Hall located at 2506 Cavitt Ave., in Bryan. This is only open for residents of the Brazos County and only children ages 0-12 are eligible.
Applicants must bring documentation of their need for assistance: picture identification for the parent or legal guardian attending the interview; a form of identification such as Medicaid card, social security card, school ID, etc. for all those living in the household; a birth certificate for all children applying; a proof of residence in the Brazos County, such as a current gas, lease, or electric bill; proof of all sources of income for the household; and proof of all monthly household expenses. This is a long list of documents, however, it assures resources are used for those who are most in need. If applicants are unsure of what documents are allowed, the Salvation Army encourages calling before the required interview.
