To celebrate Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month, the Bryan Animal Center will be offering an adoption special every day in October. The adoption fees for approved adopters will be $30 for dogs and puppies, and $10 for cats and kittens.
While adoption is a great option for families and individuals who want to own a pet, some local residents are not able to because of time, allergies or living situations. However, with the Bryan Animal Center’s new Social Foster Program anyone can help an animal in need find a home. This program will help encourage animal adoptions through social media.
“Most everybody has some type of social media, but not everyone is in a position to physically foster,” said Alma Garcia, Bryan Animal Center Programs Coordinator. “With the Social Foster Program, this opens up a whole new opportunity for animal promotion.”
At the top of Bryan Animal Center’s webpage are photos of pets that are ready to be adopted. All photos and animal profiles can be easily shared through convenient links to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+ and email.
“This program allows people to promote a pet of their choosing on social media to increase the amount the animal is seen by the community, and hopefully its possibility of finding a new forever home,” said Garcia.
