“Scythe of Darkness”, a young-adult urban fantasy novel was released on Tuesday, June 13. That same day, the book skyrocketed to Amazon’s Top 30 Best Selling category for Myths and Legends—Greek and Roman.

Dawn Husted, a born and raised Aggie, graduated from Texas A&M University in 2006. “Scythe of Darkness” is a stand-alone novel with action that takes place in Gaige, Texas, a fake town that resembles College Station.

The novel is written for late teens. But fellow author, CB Stagg, commented: “The book’s insightful characters and well-constructed plot structure makes it an enjoyable read for adults as well.”

Teenager Mia Hieskety, is thrust into a sinister world, discovering a truth that she never expected. When a supernatural connection puts Mia’s life at risk, she doesn’t know who to trust. But what if she’s in love with the one boy she can’t trust?

“Scythe of Darkness” received four and five stars on Amazon and Goodreads. One review said: “The paranormal connection between the main characters, as well as the not so predictable plot, was quite intriguing and kept me hooked until the very end!”
