Iggity-Ziggity-Zaggity-Zoom! The Olivier Award nominated Room on the Broom flies into Rudder Theatre direct from London’s West End with a witch, a dragon, a few friendly animals, and much more.  The family musical will open the 2015-16 OPAS JR series on Sunday, October 11 at 2pm and 4pm. All tickets to Room on the Broomare are on sale now at the MSC Box Office (979) 845-1234, or www.MSCOPAS.org.

The musical is recommended for pre-Kindergarten to third grade students and family audiences. The OPAS JR series is sponsored by Chick-fil-A Aggieland & South College Station, Primrose Schools of College Station, Paolo’s Italian Kitchen, & OPAS Encore.

Tall Stories’ magical musical stage adaptation of the best-selling book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, takes audiences aboard a magnificent broom for an unforgettable adventure. Room on the Broom is an ideal family treat for those who love the book and as an introduction to theatre for preschool and kindergarten children and their families. Expect enchanting puppetry, sing-a-long songs and hilarious fun for everyone ages three and up.

“Having this program on our OPAS JR series is a real honor for us,” explains OPAS Executive Director Anne Black. “It’s an impressive production that was nominated for the prestigious 2013 Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Family program. The Olivier Awards in London are equivalent to our country’s Tony Awards.”

Join a witch and her cat as they fly happily along on their broomstick – until a stormy wind blows the witch’s hat, bow, and wand away into the night. With the help of a daft dog, a beautiful bird, and a friendly frog, her belongings are retrieved. But this broomstick’s not meant for five and – CRACK! – it snaps in two. When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone?
