The Arts Council of the Brazos Valley will host the annual Celebrate the Arts, Monday, September 21, at 6pm. Held at the Brazos County Expo Complex, Celebrate the Arts will feature a Hooray for Hollywood theme, fantastic live auction and raffle, as well as awards ceremony for Celebrate the Arts Award recipients.
The 2015 Celebrate the Arts Awards Recipients include:
Business Arts Patron Award – Cherry and JJ Ruffino
Volunteer of the Year – Anne Wiatt
M. L. “Sonny” Moss Artist of the Year – Kate Revnell-Smith
Arts Champion Award – Brad Stafford
D.A. “Andy” Anderson Award – Steve Beachy
Jane Wolfe Distinguished Arts Leadership Award – Warren Finch
Live auction and raffle items are quite exciting and range from Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” (duck and goose hunting trip, including airline vouchers and lodging), to Guy Hamilton’s “Diamonds Are Forever” (a .45ctw of diamonds in 18k yellow gold David Yurman Starburst Medium Pendant Necklace).
Last year’s Celebrate the Arts hosted a record crowd of nearly 500 guests and 50 tables, resulting in significant funding for the Arts Council and more than $10,000 in direct support for the College Arts Scholarship program.
