Local business from Navasota, Lizzy Boutique Salon, was named as a quarterfinalist for the $50,000 Indie Award.
The national small business movement, Independent We Stand, announced the quarterfinalists of the seventh annual Independent We Stand Independent Small Business of the Year or “Indie Award,” on Nov. 20. This announcement precedes Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25, encouraging holiday shoppers to support these businesses versus big boxes and national chains.
Lizzy Boutique Salon is a unique store with a salon and boutique mixed into one. They carry everything from clothes and accessories, to home goods, beauty needs, and haircare products. Customers can schedule a hair appointment with one of the four stylists or take advantage of the nail and lash services.
“I enjoy what I do,” says German. “I am so blessed to have so many wonderful customers and I hope each of you love Lizzy Boutique Salon as much as I do. Stay beautiful!”
This competition is a way to celebrate hard working small business owners, according to Bill Brunelle, co-founder of Independent We Stand.
“This year’s quarterfinalists represent the independent businesses from across the country who go above and beyond to support their local economies,” says Brunelle. “This award is our way of honoring the contributions they’ve made to their communities.”
Voting is now underway at www.IndieBizAward.com through Dec. 10. Voters may visit the website to cast one vote each day.
The 2017 Indie winner will receive prizes with a combined value of more than $50,000, including:
