Neutral Posture Inc., a fast-growing ergonomic seating manufacturer of products and accessories for the office and lab, was honored with the presentation of the first-ever Texas Business Star award by the Texas Economic Development Corporation, at a luncheon hosted by the Research Valley Partnership honoring companies making an impact on the Brazos Valley.

The Texas Business Star award was created to recognize companies that are making an extraordinary impact in their communities – whether through job creation, capital investment, or a multitude of other factors that can elevate the economy. TexasOne, a state organization established to promote Texas and it’s nationally recognized business climate, presented the inaugural award to Neutral Posture CEO and Founder Rebecca Boenigk.

The Bryan-based business employs more than 100 people and manufactures a pressure-reducing seat designed by Dr. Jerome Congleton, the CEO’s father. With its recent acquisition of a product line from Knoll Inc. in 2014, Neutral posture is now a top-producing diversity supplier and certified Women’s Business Enterprise for the United States Government and numerous Fortune 500 companies.

“Neutral Posture is highly deserving of the Texas Business Star award,” said Todd E. McDaniel, president and CEO of the Research Valley Partnership. “A long-time corporate citizen of our region as well as an innovator, the company is surely one of our rising stars and is on a strong growth path in the Research Valley.”

The Research Valley Partnership is fortifying its efforts to help business in the Research Valley grow as part of it business retention and expansion strategy. “Consistent with our State of Texas Partners at the Texas Economic Development Corporation and TexasOne, we recognize economic development isn’t just about attracting new companies to the state and Brazos County, but also growing and retaining business already here,” McDaniel added. “We look forward to continued cooperation with the Office of the Governor, TexasOne and the State.”
