The nonprofit program Leadership Brazos of the Bryan College Station Chamber of Commerce will be accepting applications until Aug. 7 at 5pm. Thirty-six participants are chosen anonymously from the applicants to join the program. The Leadership Brazos program is a highly competitive application process.
Some of the program’s goals are to promote and foster the development of community leaders for the Brazos County; identify and select individuals who are committed to the Brazos County; acquaint participants with the area’s assets, needs, and opportunities; provide a forum to discuss community challenges with representatives from the industry, government, the media, and human services. Their goals also include to stimulate leadership skills by providing an awareness of the continuous growth of the Brazos County, encourage and motive participants to choose an area of interest for active involvement upon graduation from the program, and build community leaders for today and tomorrow.
The program costs $800 for members of the Chamber of Commerce and $900 for non-Chamber members. Partial scholarships are available and are based on need. All participants are encouraged to pay $200 of the tuition fee to inspire dedication to the program. To receive a scholarship application, email Samantha Perez at firstname.lastname@example.org. Scholarship applications may be submitted upon acceptance into the program. The remainder of the tuition is the responsibility of the participant.
