Shannon Overby, president and CEO of Experience Bryan College Station (formerly The Convention & Visitor’s Bureau), has been honored by the Texas A&M Aggie Women Network with their 2016 Women’s Legacy Award recognizing the achievements of women former students.
Graduating in the College of Agriculture with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Parks & Tourism Sciences in 1991, Shannon went to work successfully building the Bryan College Station Convention & Visitors Bureau convention business as a sales director for 14 years. In 2005 Shannon was named President/CEO of the CVB.
On top of working tirelessly to promote B/CS, bringing convention and tourism business to Texas A&M and our community, Shannon has served as a mentor, encouraged internships and women’s participation in government, and has helped to shape the course of tourism growth in Texas. Thanks to her internship efforts, Texas A&M enjoys many graduates in high level tourism positions across the US.
