The Rob Childress Charity Golf Tournament will benefit abused and neglected children of Grimes, Burleson, and Brazos counties.
Join Voices for Children and head coach of the Aggie baseball team, Rob Childress, for the annual Rob Childress Charity Golf Tournament at the premier Miramont Country Club on Oct. 24. The event benefits the nonprofit program Voices for Children, which serves abused and neglected children in the foster care system.
The event will be a shotgun-style golf tournament with tee time at 11am. Coach Childress will kick-off the event and then join in the tournament and the reception after. Golfers will receive a Miramont polo and goody bag of snacks to help them bring their A-game while they’re out enjoying the fall Texas day.
Legendary Aggie running back and local Bryan College Station community pillar, Bubba Bean, has participated in the Rob Childress Charity Golf Tournament for the past few years. When asked why he enjoys playing in the tournament every year, he says, “I am a self-confessed golfaholic. It’s the only sport I can still play. So, if I’m going to be playing anyway, why not do it with the intent to bring attention to the need to have advocates speak on behalf of the less fortunate children that have found themselves in the judicial system?”
After the tournament, there will be a barbecue buffet and live auction on Miramont’s beautiful terrace that overlooks the scenic course. The live auction will feature premier items you won’t want to miss. To finish the day off with a bang, Voices for Children will present their second annual helicopter golf ball drop.
