Texas Reds organizers made it official on Friday night with an announcement from the stage of the Palace Theatre! Multiple Grammy Nominee Deana Carter will close the festival on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 24. Music will flow down the streets of Downtown Bryan during the 11th annual Texas Reds Steak & Grape Festival on Friday through Sunday, Sept. 22-24. Texas Reds is generously sponsored by City of Bryan and Bryan Texas Utilities.
Best known for her hit “Strawberry Wine” from her multiple-platinum international debut album ”Did I Shave My Legs for This?,” Deana Carter enjoys a two-decade long successful career in country music. Other chart-toppers include “We Danced Anyway” and “How Do I Get There.” The singer-songwriter has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards including Best Country Song 2012 (“You and Tequila”), Best Country Song 1998 (“Did I Shave My Legs for This?”), Best Female Country Vocal 1998 (“Did I Shave My Legs for This?”) and Best Female Country Vocal 1997 (“Strawberry Wine”).
Festival Director Amanda Reynolds beams, “We’ve had our eye on bringing Deana Carter to our festival for years and we are excited to welcome her this year. We also will have a strawberry wine available for tasting on Sunday, too! That way, festival visitors can sip wine and savor the sound of ‘Strawberry Wine.’” Reynolds teases, “And stay tuned…because we have a lot more musicians to announce in the coming weeks!”
Other acts confirmed to appear at the festival include Rick Trevino, Jack Ingram and Texas Unlimited Band. A more detailed release about all of the music acts coming to Texas Reds will be disseminated in the coming weeks.
