Looking for some summer fun in Bryan? Here are some new programs and events for all ages this summer.

Adult Softball League
Register your team today. The Bryan Regional Athletic Complex hosts Men’s B, C, D, Church and Coed softball leagues. The season consists of eight games and a double elimination tournament. All games are played at Bryan Regional Athletic Complex. Registration ends May 29. 

Junior Police Academy
Students going into the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades are eligible for the free 10 day program. Classes are June 15 – June 26 where students will learn and interact with different units throughout the department. There are mock crime scenes, traffic stops, and building searches. This year there is a special day at TEEX where you will see how people are trained from the firing range (students will not shoot live rounds) to the driving track. Application Deadline is May 31. 

New Program! Scrapbooking Series
Fun In The Sun: June 23
Learn how to create two-page spreads that will hold your summer memories. The themes will be sunshine and beach ball spreads. In this class, you will learn the basics of how to create scrapbook spreads using just a few sheets of paper and your imagination. All the materials for this class will be provided and you will need to bring two (2×4), 7-10 (4×6) and one (5×7) pictures you would like to use for each theme.

Time: 6pm – 8pm
Where: Parks and Recreation Office, 1309 E. Martin Luther King, Bryan
Cost: Resident: $30; Non-Resident: $35

New Class! Flowering Cupcakes
Learn the art of making beautiful cupcakes with tools the professionals use to make those special occasions extra special. You will be provided with 6 cupcakes to take home. Tools that are needed will be provided with registration.

Time: 6pm – 8pm
Where: Parks and Recreation Office, 1309 E. Martin Luther King, Bryan
Cost: Resident: $30; Non-Resident: $35

Thunderbolts Track Club
This program is for youth 8 to 18 years of age. This program is for all levels of experience with track and field events and distance running. Athletes with all levels of experience with track and field events and distance running are welcome. Athletes will learn proper techniques as well as improve speed, agility, strength, and endurance.
Program Dates: June 15 – August 1
Program Fee: $30

Not certified yet? Well, apply today, and you’ll get a lifeguard certification class, your suit, your whistle, and your pocket mask for only $65. You can’t beat that deal, and that’s not all. If you work through the entire summer, we’ll reimburse you for your certification costs.

Better in Bryan
