Kappa Alpha Theta will be holding the 30th Annual “Rock the CASA” 5K and silent auction on Saturday, April 18, at 9am. All of the proceeds of the event will be donated to the nonprofit organizations Scotty’s House and Voices for Children.
Scotty’s House is the child advocacy center of the Brazos County and was founded in 1995. Scotty’s House is a non-profit organization that provides services to abused and neglected children and their families in order to provide relief in times of crisis.
Voices for Children is the nonprofit organization that serves abused and neglected children in the Brazos Valley. Voices for Children uses trained volunteers called Court Appointed Special Advocates to speak on behalf of the abused child under the court’s jurisdiction until the child is placed in a safe and secure home.
Last year, Theta was able to give $86,000 to the philanthropies due to race participants, silent auction bidders, and sponsor donations. Theta’s goal for 2015 is to donate more than $86,000. Rock the CASA 5K welcomes families and friends of the Bryan/College Station community, as well as students.
You can register for the race or become a sponsor at theta5k.webs.com. Registration is $15 per person before April 18 and $25 per person on race day and includes a Rock the CASA t-‐shirt. The race will begin at the Theta house on 1503 Athens Drive, College Station.
