Lemonade Day Bryan/College Station has announced that Caitlin Wheat will serve as the new city director as preparations are made for Lemonade Day 2017.

Caitlin, whose background is in leadership, business, and communication, will oversee all areas of program implementation for Lemonade Day in B/CS.

This will be the seventh year B/CS has participated in Lemonade Day.

Lemonade Day is a free, community-wide program dedicated to teaching children how to start, own, and operate their own business through the simple and time-honored act of building and running a lemonade stand.

Lemonade Day, scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2017, provides youth with free materials and support, thanks to local sponsors who recognize the significant benefits of teaching business skills early.

Blue Baker continues its strong support of Lemonade Day and impacting the lives of B/CS youth by serving as the 2017 title sponsor.

Last year, more than 1300 children participated locally in Lemonade Day. This year, the goal is to have 1,500 new entrepreneurs hit the streets of B/CS on May 6.

“Lemonade Day is a day of learning and celebrating our future, and we recognize that the success of this effort depends on so many businesses and individuals in our city,” local founder and City Champion Lenae Scroggins said. “We’re truly honored and humbled by the support of these committed corporate citizens who understand the role they play in helping develop the leaders of tomorrow.”
