The women of Kappa Alpha Theta at Texas A&M University are holding their 8th annual ThetaFest, benefitting Scotty’s House and Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, on Friday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 9pm at the Theta House on Athens Drive.
Guests will be treated to a $5 fajita dinner, including Torchy’s queso and desserts from Tiff’s Treats and Nothing Bundt Cakes. The night’s events include live music by Wynn Williams, David’s Room band, lawn games, and a silent auction featuring Cowboys tickets, an Apple Watch, Kendra Scott jewelry, and much more.
This evening of festivities gives the Bryan College Station community the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of abused children and their families. Last year, Kappa Alpha Theta raised more than $44,000 for this cause. Proceeds from the event will go to Scotty’s House, with a portion donated to Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
Scotty’s House is the leading child advocacy center of the Brazos Valley. Their mission is to provide safety, healing, and justice for children victimized by abuse. Through professional assessment, counseling, and education in a compassionate and collaborative environment, Scotty’s House helps prevent the long-lasting trauma of physical and sexual abuse, neglect, and exposure to violence, laying a foundation for a healthy future.
Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation is a scholarship fund that exists separately from the fraternity to provide support for educational leadership and philanthropic programs such as their national philanthropy, Court Appointed Special Advocates.
