Ladies Nite is on July 13 at 7 p.m.Imagine a night free of your husband/boyfriend/significant other … a night dedicated to you and your girlfriends where the dress code is outrageous – even tacky –  not glamorous. Now, tell your husband/boyfriend/significant other you will be busy July 13 for Ladies Nite: Prom Rewind.

This year’s Prom Rewind theme for the Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce’s Ladies Nite fundraiser was chosen to ensure it would be a night of leisure for the ladies of the community, and to make the men so envious they would want to volunteer to pamper the women during the event. “This is a prom with no date required,” says Dena Gaskin, director of operations and public affairs for the B/CS Chamber of Commerce.

The “Prom Rewind” dress code gives those old dresses hanging in your closet – the ones you say you never want to wear again, but secretly do – a chance to party. Gaskin explains, “This way the ladies can just recycle something from their closet, or find something fun at Goodwill,” making the evening more about fun than glamour.

Gaskin explains, “This way the ladies can just recycle something from their closet, or find something fun at Goodwill,” making the evening more about fun than glamour. “It can get expensive trying to find a nice evening dress,” says Gaskin.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception for mixing, mingling and enjoying everyone’s outlandish, ne nostalgic, dresses. From there, the night will evolve into a formal dinner followed by a live program. The live program varies every year and is put on by the men of the community. Gaskin says the evening will end with the one consistent element every one of the Ladies Nite fundraisers has: “Dancing!” The evening will also include casino-style games, door prizes and music from every era.

Though the fundraiser is a night of fun, there is still some business laced into it. The yearbook will include advertisements and coupons sponsored by local businesses. The prizes and surprise giveaways also will include coupons from business in the community.
