“Once the owners figured out they weren’t the only ones experiencing things, everyone wanted to tell their story,” says Debbie Jasek, co-founder of the Ghost Tours in Downtown Bryan.

“Once the owners figured out they weren’t the only ones experiencing things, everyone wanted to tell their story,” says Debbie Jasek, co-founder of the Ghost Tours in Downtown Bryan.

Giving 30-45 minute ghost tours, Jasek says she has nearly 14 pages of ghost stories and spooky history with more revealing themselves and clanking their chains.

“There was all these places I would go to that you would least expect it that were having ghost and history tours,” says Jasek, who traveled extensively as a researcher for the Texas Transportation Institute at Texas A&M University.

These tours would raise money for historic neighborhoods and cemetery maintenance, says Jasek. Jasek and Cindy Peaslee tossed around the idea of a ghost tour in Downtown Bryan, and three years ago they had their first tour with an impressive 35 people.

Jasek will be taking tours on Thursday, October 23 at 8:00pm and Halloween Night, October 31, at 8:00pm. Those interested can meet at the Palace Theater to begin the tour. The proceeds are donated to the local animal shelter, like the haunted house at the Palace.

Jasek has also paired with the Hidden Oasis Haunted Carriage Rides and shared her stories. They will be hosting haunted rides October 24, 25, and 31 from 7:00-10:00pm.
