Come Out To Family Fest May 12

May 12 beginning at 11 a.m., Family Fest 2012 will transform Wolf Pen Creek in College Station into a daylong family attraction that will be capped off with a performance by Country Music star Rodney Atkins, whose work has been nominated for multiple awards including Song of the Year, Top Album of the Year, Top Male Vocalist and more.

Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach is hosting “Family Fest” as the major fundraiser that allows the organization to work to prevent child abuse and neglect in the Brazos Valley by working with women with unplanned pregnancies through education, outreach and also as a licensed adoption agency. The all-day event at Wolf Pen Creek will include local musical groups, soloists, school groups, singers, actors, comedians, dance groups as well as a carnival area with food vendors, merchants, kid’s activities, karaoke and more. Atkins will perform after Greg Bates provides the warm-up at 5:30 p.m.

Ticket purchases will go toward preventing child abuse and neglect and are available at  www.APOFamFest.org. For more information about APO or to help sponsor or volunteer, contact Kim Schams, RN, executive director of Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach, Inc., 2501 Texas Ave. South, Suite C-105, College Station, www.PregnancyOutreach.org.
