The Texas A&M/Tennessee matchup this weekend means the Oct. 7 First Friday is also a Football Friday, and the Downtown Bryan Association is planning an eventful evening for patrons.
Lawn bowling, croquet, and cornhole games will be set up on the north end of Downtown near Blackwater Draw. The outdoor games were donated by Wayfair, the home furnishings and accessories company which has a call center in Bryan. A short ceremony recognizing Wayfair for the donated items will take place at 6pm. At dusk, The Nightmare before Christmas will be shown, and food vendors will be available for those watching the free movie.
, a Celtic rock band, will perform at the Palace Theater at 8pm.
This Dallas-based band travels the country extensively, performing their unique blend of southern rock infused Celtic melodies. The concert is free and drink concessions are available.
Rounding out the evening will be street performers offering magic tricks, music, and dance. Other highlighted events this month include Brazos BarkandBuild showcasing innovative dog houses at Binary Space, tours of Temple Freda, pet blessings at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, and Oktoberfest celebrations at Square One.
