Head out to the Brayton Fire Training School tonight, July 27, for the Public Firefighting Demo – Night Burn, hosted by the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) in conjunction with the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas. The demonstration is in conjunction with Municipal Fire Training School, and everyone is invited to this free event. Gates open at the Brayton Fire Training Field at 7 p.m., and a children’s fire-awareness class begins at 7:40 p.m. Immediately following the awareness class, TEEX instructors will explain and demonstrate techniques used to extinguish fires on selected full-scale, live-fire training props. The event will end at approximately 9:30 p.m. Note: Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required at the fire field.
The 82nd Annual Municipal Fire Training School
is the largest school of its kind in the world, with 2,500 firefighters, emergency personnel, safety officers and guest instructors from some of the largest municipal fire services to the smallest volunteer fire departments.
