15094397_10154765062607718_1703806202637447158_nThe City of Navasota is presents the 5th annual “Home for the Holidays” event Dec. 10. Join in the festivities as historic Downtown Navasota is transformed into a Winter Wonderland full of family activities and fun. Ice skating will be available from 10am to 7pm.  Beginning at noon, the area around City Hall will feature a snow globe, slide, and much more.  Santa will be in the City Hall lobby from 3 to 5pm to meet and take pictures with residents.

Be sure to stop at local businesses around town for refreshments throughout the day. Hot chocolate and Christmas carolers will be at Java Hot Spot; a special meet and greet with Jeannie C. Riley from 2 to 5pm will take place at the Navasota Emporium; refreshments will be available at Paris Pink & Cowboy Blue, as well as This and That; and More. The Horlock House will also have refreshments available and artist Ashton Hall will be running a holiday sale on her art. Check out the artists’ work at 1215 E. Washington Ave.

The Christmas Parade will also be held at 6pm. After the end of the parade, everyone is encouraged to go to City Hall for the lighting of the community Christmas tree and listen to Christmas carolers.
