October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the first “5K Run For Hope” benefitting the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center will be held in conjunction with the Texas Reds Festival in Downtown Bryan on October 8. All Sports Timing will be timing the runners. Highlights include cash prizes for the top runners in four different categories plus raffles offering prizes such as four tickets on Southwest Airlines, free rooms at any Best Western hotel, and lots of local business gift certificates and many restaurant gift cards.

All of the proceeds will be donated to the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center opening this fall at the Texas A&M Health Science Center; all of the money will stay in Brazos County.
